Blended Rate Cost
Blended Rates will produce simplified cost calculations by applying a single unit price to the Meter data. The prices are associated to a Path in the Tree and the cost calculations cascade through to the Meters by fuel and measurement units. Useful if the Meter does not have a Contract associated with it..
In Analysis, Blended Costs can be selected as an alternative to the Cost or Revenue Contract outputs. Blended Costs will only appear as selectable outputs for certain Analysis types:
Performance - MVLR Analysis, Baseload, League Table
Viewing Blended Rates
Open: Financial > CONTRACT > Blended Rate Cost
Searching Options
Path - click Select to choose the Path
Fuel - choose from the dropdown
Unit - choose from the dropdown
Currency - choose from the dropdown
Adding Blended Rates
Tip - you must have a Path selected to add Blended Rates
Click Add to open the Blended Rates Page
Path - the Path will be populated with the Path chosen in the previous Page
Fuel - choose from the dropdown
Unit - choose from the dropdown (the list of options only shows the units found for the Fuel selected above
Currency - defaults to British Pounds (GBP)
Search Results section
Effective From - choose the effective from date
Value - add the Value. For example enter 0.45 for 45p or 1.50 for £1.50
Click Insert
Adding Additional Rates manually
Click Add to open the Blended Rates Page
Search for the Path, Fuel, Unit and Currency
Click Add
Effective From - is a date entered to establish the start date of the latest value. The preceding values will end at 23:59 of the previous date. A value remains effective for blended cost calculation until a following value is inserted.
Value - add the Value. For example enter 0.45 for 45p or 1.50 for £1.50
Click Insert
The previous Rate is automatically ended and both Rates show in the Search Results
Editing Blended Rates
Click Edit
Make any changes and click Update to return to the Blended Rates Page
Deleting Blended Rates
Click Delete
Exporting Blended Rates
Click Export All to download a list of the search results displayed as a CSV file
Creating Projected Rates
Create Projected Rates generates a sequence of annual, incremental values.
Click Create Projected Rates to open the Projected Rates popup
Difference % - enter the % increment per year
Baseline From Date - enter the Baseline From Date (defaults to the date of the first Blended Rate
Years - enter the number of yearly records to create
Click Project to return to the Blended Rates Page, showing the Projected Rates
Importing Blended Rates
Blended Rates can be imported from a CSV file. The imported rates will apply to the combination of items searched: Path, Fuel, Unit and Currency.
Although there is not a sample File, export the existing Blended Rates and use this as an example of the format.
Once you have created the File:
Search to the required Path, Fuel, Unit and Currency
Click Select and select your File
Click Import
The screen updates to show the success of the File.
Using Blended Rates
Once Blended Rates have been added, they can be used in the following Analysis Reports:
Performance - MVLR Analysis, Baseload, League Table
Running Reports
Run the Report as per the above links and choose Blended Rates from the Output Type
The Report will show the Cost using the appropriate Blended Rates.
The Consumption for the September period is 51397.60 kWh. Running the Report on Blended Rates will multiply the Consumption by the Blended Rate relevant to the time period, ie 0.55 (55p), which equals £28268.70.
