What is Data Exchange?
Data Exchange is the gateway for data to be received from external sources. Data is presented to the system as imports or collections (files containing values that are either “pushed” or “pulled” from source). Data Exchange manages the data presented to the destination locations of the system.
Why use Data Exchange?
Data Exchange contains the functions for populating the system with data. System integration is achieved using automatic channels for each data source. Data Quality Analysis will scrutinise meters for missing data and can auto fill any gaps identified.
Data import sources can transfer CSV or XML files (Character Separated Values or Extensible Markup Language) in a variety of layouts. Data Exchange can be customised to read any layouts not already acknowledged.
Data collection is achieved through Intelligent Data Collector (IDC) or a direct interface by a recognised protocol (ALC, OBIX and OPC).
